I think the purpose of life
is to exert yourself
despite the odds—
to resist the forces
that weigh down the soul,
knowing the cause is futile
and defeat assured,
but still fighting on
till death intervenes—
settling the score,
and sending all participants
onto a field of play
in a realm of nothingness.
